Where has the time gone?

I can't believe it has been this long since I posted an entry about my knitting! Now that I got back in here, I am going to have to search through my files to see what I have created and post pics. 4 years of stuff... gosh I didn't post about any of the stuff for my first grandbaby and now we are expecting the second one in 3 months.

Happy Bag Swap Times

Just look at all the wonderful things I got from my Bag swap buddy! Teas, sock yarn, chocolate, sock yarn, lace sock and scarf patterns, jam, jelly and more!

The gorgeous quilted bag and the "envelopes" were all made by for me by Annie from the http://groups.yahoo.com/group/TownsendSocksKnitALong group.

Each of the envelopes was also stuffed with goodies! It's hard to see in the pic, but she even made stitch markers with my name on them!

All the gifts are finally ready for the staff at the doctor's office. 3 pair of socks, 3 scarves and 1 shawl. Nothing like waiting 'til the last minute!

I found these cute boxes at the Christmas Tree Shop to put the socks and scarves in. The "bow" on each box is a scrap of the yarn used to make each item (just in case something needs to be mended)

I thought what could be more appropriate than to keep the hands warm of the person who delivers all my "goodies"? He is always asking what in the world am I having sent from Europe that needs to be signed for! I hope he likes them.
These are made from the Fetching pattern on knitty.com using Lamb's Pride superwash.

I almost wrapped these up without taking a pic! These are for one of my MANY SILs.

Last spring the whole gang was down in FL for a wedding. While we were hanging out poolside I was knitting sock socks for my Mom for Mother's day. There were some comments made about why anyone would "bother" to knit socks. This SIL jumped right into the conversation to defend me saying "There's nothing like a pair of handmade socks!" Well DH's family does a grab for Christmas, so I finagled a way to get the person who runs it to let me have this SIL.
I loved working with the yarn - 100% cashmere from ColourMart (I used the 4ply). I knit the entire foot (from the start of the heel to the toes) with a strand of woolly nylon added to the cashmere. It would not have been so bad if I was knitting each sock by itself, but I was knitting these 2S1C. The pattern can be found at TownsendSocksKnitALong it is Pretty Petals by Jeanie Townsend.

This one for for DH's Oncologist. No, it is not misshaped. She has long, narrow feet.

Latest socks completed. These are a Christmas gift for one of DH's nurses.

TZLSH's knitting

This is the start of my first sock for the Sockamaniac KAL http://groups.yahoo.com/group/sockamaniac_sockalong/ Although I have made other socks, they were all straight stockinette stitch - toe-up or cuff-down with either Magic Loop or DPNs. This is my first attempt at a patterned sock. So far I am really happy with how they are coming out.
